WD 45 Rear diff noise

I am looking at buying a 1954 WD 45 . It has a real nice 9 point, new tires front and 70% rear , wide front , nice paint, The only thing is the rear end seems a bit noisy when driving it in any gear. I have a C model wide axe and it is a little noisy but not as much as the WD , Also seems hard to get in any gear. Are they naturally noisy? Is it the final drive spur cut gears that make in noisy? It has a factory short block( I was told) and runs good, the oil pressure is low but that is normal. any advise would be most appreciated.

First off what is a 9 point???
As for the noise they do in fact make a good bit of noise but as to how much hard to tell a person here. I would open ypu the fill plug and maybe even the drain plug so as to see what oil it has and or is it low and does it have water in it. Water will make one noisy and of course is bad and if you find water how much. A simple oil change on one with water can fix it or can also do nothing all depends on to many factors

First of all, verify that it is a WD45- does it have a curved shift lever? If it is straight, it is a WD, and they have a definite howl to them compared to the WD45, due to the transmission being different. Bad bearings can be noisy as well, or lack of proper oil in the finals, etc.

Thanks for the information guys , It is a WD45, There is no water in transmission or diff, I think it is a normal noise and if I use 90w140 gear oil in the transmission and final drives it will quite it down some.
