Winter start unit on AC 5040

Is this like a Fiat made in Italy? If so, no glow plugs, but should have a CAV made "thermostarter" unit which works good. Look over by the intake manifold for a small round tank smaller than a cofffee cup. It will be electrically fired with a position on the key switch.

Are you sure its not on there? Or, is yours bad?
The 5040 should have its own "Thermo-start" unit.
On the starter switch, it is the 1st position to the left (Clockwise).
Op manual says to hold it there for 30 seconds, push the fuel control shut-off all the way in (which retards the timing) and then turn to 2nd position to engage the starter. (all the way Clockwise)

For normal fair weather starting, turn the starter switch Counter-clockwise to position "3"

The thermostarter is a CAV device. Do you have the tank and any of the plumbing? There is no glow plug as in a pure glow plug?
