433i noise help

Hello everyone. I have somewhat a problem and am in need of advice. I've got a 433i irrigation engine, which I believe to be the same as some F2 diesel combines, with a really bad gear noise. It got a pinhole in the sleeve and filled the crankcase with antifreeze. Which of course ruined it. No big deal, ordered a rebuild kit tore it down had it vatted, cleaned it up and put it back. New pistons sleeves the cam and lifters and all. The only thing left inside was the crank, rods and oil pump. It went together really well, and when I started it everything was great, almost. Shortly after firing it it developed a really loud whining or gear type of noise. I know these engines always had a little of that, but this one scares me and it wasn't that way before. I have torn it back down and checked the oil pump, crank driven balancer, harmonic balancer, and all of the timing gears. I did notice that thecam gear seemed to be getting tight and then loose and determined that the cam wasn't straight, so I bought another one "from Agco" and replaced it and the bearings again. I also have replaced the front and rear main seals and checked theflywheel bolts for hitting the rear main. I just don't know what I did wrong. My father helped me tear it down, and he say's there was a little oil line from the pump to the balancer. I can't find this line or where it goes. The old parts and service books I've looked at don't show it either, but he swears it was there. Not too many Allis mechanics left around here, nobody really seems to know much bout these little engines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you had a "0" backlash condition, and ran it for any length of time, the mating gear (crank) is probably marked with the bad pattern, and causing the noise now.

Did you have the turbo rebuilt? It sometimes makes a funky noise if it has bad bearings and definitely if contamminents got in the oil. That engine was also used in the 6000 series tractors by the way.
