Oil leak at governor

I just received a nice running 1952 Allis model B with oil leaking from the top of my govenor. The oil line enters the top of govenor through a steel bushing that acts like a bearing for the govenor arms and linkage to the carbuerator. This oil line with bushing slides up and down and is not fastened in place. Engine oil squarts out around the bushing. How do I secure the oil line and stop the oil leaking out? Thanks, DoneDeere.

That line should have a farrel on it to hold it in.

Can you tell me more about this ferrel? My oil line attaches to a metal pin type part that is about 3/8" X 1" long. This part slides up and down into the govenor and lets the oil seep out around it. This pin acts like the pivot for the rods going to the carbueratur and throttle. Where does the ferrel attach and what does it look like? I do not have a parts catalog.

Is the oil line moving up and down or is the bushing? The bushing you mention should be pressed in and is a hollow tube for oil to go from the line in to the govenor. The ferrel is a oval shaped brass fitting that slides over your 1/8 inch oil line. when the cap nut is tightened the ferrel puts pressure on the line to hold it in place.

OK, I am missing the ferrel. My oil line is firmly attached to the barrel piece and the barrell with line attached moves up and down freely and out comes the oil. There is nothing holding the line/barrel to the govenor. Thank you.
