The Big M | I SPENT MY CHILD HOOD YEARS GROWING UP IN FARM COUNTRY IN SOUTHERN OHIO. IT WAS ALWAYS PRETTY EASY TO FIND WORK ON THE FARMS AND THOUGH THE WORK WAS HARD, I ENJOYED IT. MAINLY BECAUSE I GOT TO DRIVE THE TRACTORS. I WORKED FOR ONE FARMER IN PATICULAR WHO HAD AN 'H' FARMALL THAT I RAN QUITE A BIT AND LOVED IT. THEN THERE WAS ANOTHER FARMER WHO HAD A 'BIG' M. MAN, HOW I WANTED TO RUN THAT THING, BUT HE ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS TOO SMALL. I WAS PRETTY SCRAWNEY BACK THEN. ONLY WEIGHED ABOUT 125 AS A TEENAGER. EVEN AS I GREW UP, I STILL REMEMBERED THAT M AND HOW I WANTED TO DRIVE IT. WELL, I JUST TURNED 62 YEARS OLD, AND QUITE A BIT BIGGER. RETIRED A FEW MONTHS AGO, AND TO KEEP BUSY, I JUST BOUGHT ME A FARMALL M, NO, MAKE THAT TWO FARMALL M, S. TO RESTORE. DROVE ONE OF THEM THIS WEEK FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND I SURE WASN, T DISSAPOINTED. THEY SAY GOOD THINGS ARE WORTH WAITING ON, AND NOW I BELIVE IT. ED HUTCHISON, TX, entered 2003-01-11 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
