John Deere owner pride | John Deere owner pride It was July of 2002 I was attending the Michigan Steam Engine and threshers club they had all sorts of tractors mostly Steam tractors, they also had old gas tractors too. The thing I enjoyed the most was the tractor pulling event When the First John Deere (circa 1940's) came-up to pull, I almost cried when I heard the john-dear Express its power (If you love john Deeres like I do you would know what I am talking a about.) Johnny said I am work-in hard and I love it and I am going to take this sled all the way. Hearing that Proud sound of a John deere working! Boy it did a country-Boy's heart good to hear it. Later in the event there was a John D was return- pulling the sled, There was a 1928 Caterpillar tractor with enough Horse-power to pull double what all of the others were: so when it came his turn to pull the John D. stayed hooked and when the cat had got moving good, John started pulling against him and started turning his tires against the force. (Like a tug-of war) and kept it up until the sled and Caterpillar got too the other end. He wouldn't give-up against an adversary! That Proud sound of Determination that the John Deere exhibited, I really enjoyed a lot. Ho that reminds me of when I was a boy driving our John deere on the road: with the Johnny. In 6th gear High range and full throttle at the blazing speed of 15mph with the wind bowling through my wavy hair, the only thing was it was waving fair-well, although I didn’t know at the time.
