  • Hey Eric I own a IH 3514 loader/backhoe. It was in rough shape when I bought it. I just finished replacing the front coupler where my hysraulic pump bolts to the fan. Now I don;t have forward. I do however have reverse. The repair books I have point me to the forward check valve. Other have told me it could be the relief valve. I have read from forums that it could be the snap ring on the shuttle valve. I noticed that you have delt with the 656 hydro. According to the repair manuals that is what it says I have. I cannot find access to the center section so I can access those valves. The repair book and some peopke tell me its on the left side. Some kind of access panel. The problem is there is no access panels on the left side. The only thing I can find is the control valve that is used when you press the forward or reverse pedal. I took that out and it looks OK. Can you tell me where I can find the access to the center section and where my shuttle valve is? Also do you know if my cap on the hydraulic tank should be vented? My buddy said it should be but it is not. Thanks alot as this is really getting me done. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB7.3; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; BRI/2; AskTbORJ/
