RJ-AZ wrote on Thursday, November 20, 2003 (PST):I mount hour meters so they are switched on by an oil pressure switch. This is a Hobbs part and only activates the hour meter when the engine is running
Mark v. wrote on Monday, March 21, 2005 (PST):I been wanted to do the same thing...put on a hour meter...THANKS for the idea..have to do it now...Mark
rhett wrote on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 (PST):another way which we do at work is to plumb a simple pressure switch avail at a local auto parts store into an oil pressure port, then run a power wire through this switch to the meter, therefore when the engine is running the oil pressure closes the switch and powers the meter. the switch can also be on the ground side of the meter if its a two pole meter.
