Doug, You need to remove the Pump first, thats the easy part. If the pump is not siezed its most likely OK and not need rebuilding. If the Shaft "half moon" Key has sheared the shaft will turn inside the gear (once pump is removed you can try turning shaft). The Coupling under the front cover is gear teeth to gear teeth and doen't turn unless engine turns. Hope this Helps,
