You didn't mention diesel or gas. If it's diesel and your cylinders, rings and pistons are in good shape, then you're trying to overcome a good bit of compression to get that thing to turn over. I have an 885 diesel that had been sitting for a few years by the time I got to it. Pull starting wouldn't do the trick, just slide the tires. It showed that the oil was full on the dipstick, but when I drained the pan, a good portion of what came out was water. Had no cap on the vertical exhaust and the drain plug on the intake manifold let out at least a quart of water. I took the starter off at this time and had it tested. The electric shop said it would turn OK, but not enough to turn over a diesel. In the meantime I got the engine to turn over with the help of a 1/2" drive socket set and a really hefty breaker bar. When the starter came back and everything was buttoned up, it turned over with the starter and ran after about half a dozen tries. I still don't know if the prolem was a jammed starter drive or a water hydraulic lock. Anyway, It's been well over a year now and it starts and runs just like it should. Good luck with yours, Jim

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
