I came across something the other day I have never seen and probably will never see again. I am in the antique car parts business by trade, but in my travels, I came across a tractor inside of a steel tank. That is, to say, a steel tank had both the top and bottom cut off and had been placed over the tractor. Perfect fit, too...not more than six inches clearance from the wheels. After a little research, I found out that it is a Case Crossmotor. The farmer that owns it says it is a 1929. He also says his father put the tank around it about 40 years ago to keep people from taking parts off it. It is on steel, and believe it or not, the motor is free. From what I can tell, the tractor is complete...right down to the crank. Other than extreme old age, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. I have some questions for anyone that might be able to answer them: #1 Where is the serial#? #2 What year(s) might it be? It has the "Abe" on the front. #3 What does this kind of tractor sell for? (So I have an idea of what to pay for it...or better yet, what not to pay) #4 Are these a collectable tractor? #5 Would it be hard to resell this tractor? Any help at all would really be appreciated. Thanks, josh
