Dont know if the 990 is like an 885, which I just replaced a clutch in. If it is there are 4 bolts accessible only through the inspection hole. These MUST be removed before splitting the tractor. I would suggest a manual close by. It's a help, trust me. The tractor is easy to work on you just have to use common sense,and again, a manual is helpful. Be prepared to adjust the clutch a few times after its back in, if you dont do it just the way the manual says to do(utside the tractor). I just did an 885 clucth and pressure plate, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Oh yeah, I did mine with a loader still on the tractor, all in all it still wasn't bad to do.
