I have another condenser on hand and will do that in my process of elimination. I just replaced the dist. drive gear. Will try it with the new gear first. If that doesn't solve it (don't really think that's the main problem), then I will replace the wires (they look good, but noted some leakage when I touched them recently. (You'd think that would have been my first order of business). If that doesn't solve it, I will replace the condenser. If all all that fails, I'm calling in a good mechanic--but as a do-it-yourselfer that's hard on the male ego. To top this all off, adding insult to injury, when I was fooling around in the yard trying to get this thing to hit on all fours, at any speed, the starter gave out--the drive mechanism broke for whatever reason. This ol' baby is putting me through all the paces. By profession, I'm a psychologist, and I'm beginning to think this thing has personality (I need a "shrink"). Diagnosis: Oppositional Disorder--late onset in a second childhood (Tractorology 101).
