Hy-Tran is a superior oil to the TFD oil, better high pressure protection and has a seal conditioner as well as the ability to hold a certain amount of H20 in suspension, the current Ultra or super Ultra Hy-tran is a improved version of the original IH Hy-Tran at the time TFD was the best CASE had to offer in the high HP tractors, as for the posters ? on it he is correct in that CNH does not do the refining of the oil but they do hold the patent on the specific additives used in the OEM oil that bulk oil distributors can not supply as a exact replacement for CNH Hy-Tran, I along with many others here highly recommend using it, however if you have a oil that has been serving you well for many years without issues no problem as I have said before it is your equipment use what you like, when we are asked what we recommend we will say what we have found to be the best in our experience working on and running our and our customers equipment in the end it is always your choice cnt
