Its kinda funny. When I bought my 42ft dump rake, in 1995, it was the cheapest I could find. Raked a lot of hay with it. Then I quit haying, and sold off every piece of haying equipment I owned. In 2008, I moved back to the sandhills, and started accumulating haying equipment. I now have a '54 DC tied on to either a double bar Kosch mower, or a H&S 16 wheel v rake, a '58 800 diesel, tied onto which ever the DC isn't, and a 830 diesel COM tied onto a New Holland 271 baler with an OLD Farmhand, manual accumulator. With every piece of haying equipment, including the tractors, I have less then $4,000 tied up. You just have to be patient.
