I have an 841 that had the same gas tank problem. It was repaired by first cleaning the tank with hot soapie water several times, rinsing with alcohol, and then blowing a shop vac into it until all the gas/alcohol smell was gone. Took about 12 hours. I then took a 60 degree center and dented the hole inward. Used a piece of brass with a taper that matched the dented area, flat on the top, and that fitted flush with the outside surface of the tank. Tinned the brass plug and the dented area with a copper iron. Put the plug in the hole and heated it with the copper iron until the solder flowed. The repair is about 10 years old and has not leaked a drop. Really have to make sure there is no fumes in the tank before soldering. The copper soldering iron is safer than an open flame. Hope this helps.
