Well guys, It got to 58F yesterday afternoon, so Michael didn't rob all the heat before it got here. Temps. went down hill from there. 34F this morning. At 4:30 this afternoon I shot these pics., Temp 25F, wind chill 13. We're getting one Great Lakes clipper after another The Power went off about 12:20 along with the internet (TW). Son called his power failed also, he is on National grid, I'm on NYEG, regional problem I suspect. We had about 75V on one leg, nothing on other at my disconnect box, (not good) I disconnected ,and fired up my Yanmar Gen. About 3:30 the grid was back up. I havent had to run the Gen for the last 4yrs, I did start it when "Sandy" thretened, so I was prepared. I continued to work on my current project, runing my chop saw, mig welder, and arc welder on gen power. The wifey was happy, as we have Dish TV, and she could catch the "soaps", HeHe. Loren

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
