Has any one ever converted a manual fold disc to a hydraulic fold disc?
I have seen disc’s that were converted before at farm sales and naturally I can’t remember how they did it.
I have a 21-1/2 ft model 48 IH disc with additional wing tips that measures almost 23ft on the back that is currently a manual fold and I am thinking of converting it.
If anyone has suggestions or better yet pictures please respond I need some Idea’s.
P.S. The springs are set up about as tight as I can get them so they do provide a lot of lift assist but the old 48 is the pre-runner of the 480 and its heavy.
I currently have one spring so stretched out that it is hard to pick up the gang.
My reason for converting is so others can use the disc. I’m the only one that can lift the gangs.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
