that's a "southern thing. herre in n w arkansas we can get by almost every year. In the 60's and 70's it got down low enough that we lost a crop every now and then. We like to plant in the fall, pasture in winter, then overdseed with Korean or Cobe lespedeza in march or so. We then cut for hay in early may careful not to clip the top off the lespedeza and then baler the lespedeza about the first week or two of August. A good doduble crop of hay and the mmilk cows realy like it.
