ToddD said: (quoted from post at 19:54:31 03/20/11) It fits, and is a relatively easy swap. The starter needs to be sealed, to keep the oil where it belongs. The front bolster will bolt up also. There are a few other challenges, but its pretty straight forward.
The basic bell housing pattern is the same except at the starter, the 411 used a two bolt starter and the 201 has a three bolt flange. It would be interesting to have both gaskets to lay on top of each other to compare to see if sealing would be a problem in that area. The only other thing I could think of that is a potential problem would be the crankflange if it is larger on a 201 vs the 148. Either way if it is a 530- 630 com flywheel will put you where you need to be. That should be a snotty lil unit when you get it done, keep us posted. Go for it!! I edited this post to add to the comment fom Todd, it will be overkill I know buy I would put the Nippondenso starter on it as it has sealed bearings at the drive. It is a diesel starter available from Case,s Megavolt program. If you elect to use a standard starter it will need to be sealed as Todd has stated. mEl
