Butch, you've hit on a good answer to an age old question. I have one "vintage rim" with black paint down on metal and another with Persian Orange. I was going with black because of some picutres I'd seen but the only color I know they did NOT come in was galvanized... Until the 50's. My '38 also has a WICO mag that is OEM and vintage. Fairbanks Morse had some delivery problems as they tooled up to meet the Allis production demans during that first year and WICO was second sorced. Definately a keeper and certifiably vintage. Wonder if I could get away with red rims? ;-)
