'39 B questions...

I recently got an original '39 model B. As I start to rip it apart to restore it completely.... I don't have a rod set up (coming up to the steering col.) for the flap going to to the carb (choke set up I assume). Was this rod only on the later tractors that had electric start so you didn't have to set the flap by hand? The rear rims have some paint on them but don't look they were ever galvanized. On a '39 were they orange or galvanized? For a '39, should the 'Allis-Chamlers' on the side of the hood be in black or white? I seen decal kits each way... Thanks Chris Horn Scappoose Oregon
