I don't know about the Case VAC, but the Allis B, C, and CA are all about the same horsepower, which is just about twice the horsepower output of a Cub. My Dad has a Cub with a belly mower and really isn't happy with it. I have an Allis Chalmers B with a 72" belly mower and really like it. Difference is probably the horsepower output of the tractor, in my opinion.
I do know that the number of trees and other obstacles you have to drive around makes a difference as to just how well a tractor with a belly mower does compared to a lawnmower, but tractor to tractor comparisons, the Allis Chalmers with a belly mower (48, 59 or 72 inch) will hold it's own or surpass the others in my opinion.
