Guess I'm not completely sure either: I'm in college at the University of Arizona in Tucson and Dad is in Phoenix. So let me retry/expand/clarify.
All I know is this:
After sending to crank out to be ground in May (getting it back in July) my Dad is now trying to put the crank back in in November.
He is not happy with the way the thrust washers go on the crank, the one closest to the pulley "doesn't stay in place" the way he thinks it should, which he attributes to "a pin being too worn". Do we just assemble it any way, or should he do something about this pin?
And the Main bearing Caps can only be tightened down one way, forcing the little "keeper tabs" on the bearings on opposite sides when we thought the "tabs" go on the same side. Basically, no matter what we do, Dad gets confused on this part.
Boils down to he knows what he's doing, but does it so infrequently he forgets too much of what he knows, and poor me, I'm too young to know much except how to use the computer enough to turn for help here.
