When they were new, the earlier 6060's & 6080's were hard starting. On anything but a hot day, a little whiff of ether was necessary unless you wanted to crank a long time. As long as the ether injector was used sparingly it was fine. We were told they (AC) resisted changing anything because the engine was so efficient and powerful. They did later up the compression I believe. As the later ones started much better. Now? This is 30 years later. Could be lots of things.
