Sounds like you may not have an original manual, so I will just mention a couple of things from WC Operators Manual, which is same as info from early WD Operators Manual.
The tractor should have come equipped with 2 manifold covers. Use the one marked "K" for distillate and the one marked "G" for gasoline.
Try to keep the operating temperature down to 170 degreesF through use of shutters or curtain, whatever yours is equipped with.
It seems you have possibility of three carbs: 2 Zeniths & 1 Marvel Schebler.
Instruction for 3 screw Z is:
Adjust throttle stop screw on plate arm to control idle speed. For fuel mixture at idle speed, adjust needle screw on front top of carb; turn in for richer & start 1 1/2 turns out. For fuel mix at working speeds, adjust main jet screw on lower front of carb; turn out for richer & start 2 to 3 turns out depending on fuel & atmospheric conditions.
Instruction for 3 screw MS is: same as 3 screw Z but main jet adjusting needle is on front top of bowl.
Instruction for 2 screw Z is: Idle control needle is on front of upper body; turn in for richer and adjust for desired idle speed. Main jet needle on bottom of fuel bowl, turn out to make richer. Adjust by turning in until motor misses, then back out until engine runs smooth. For constant heavy loads, run a little rich.
