Stu is right, the seal is a seperate item, should be at input side of trans/hand clutch. Hand clutch is "wet", runs in the same fluid that is in trans. Allis recommended 20# oil in hydraulic system as modern hydraulic fluids haden't been invented yet. This section also lubes the belt pulley gears, so have to keep filled even if not using hydraulic lift. Filler is the dipstick near foot clutch pedal. Hand clutch, pto, trans,& diff use 80-90 gear lube. Holds 17 quarts. Structural webs between sections allow lube to level out, but it takes a while. To fill quicker, fill useing both square plugs on trans/diff case inside the left frame rail. Also, pto housing is the lowest point, so any condensation or rain seaping in around shift lever will settle here. In cold weather it will freeze & break out the housing. Hint- these were originally square headed plugs, hard to get a wrench in there. Use a 12 point socket 1/8 in larger than the square head, & ratchet on extension. 3/4 square takes 7/8 inch 12 point socket. This works on almost all square heads from 3/8 inch on up. Willie

There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
