NO, you do NOT need to pull the engine for a Head Gasket... You WILL need to remove the top sheet metal "Hood".. That comes off easy, with a few screws up near the radiator and the "Screw-clamp" around the gas tank.. Lift off the air inlet cover and the hood will lift off.. After that, it is a straight-forward head Gasket change.. If you ever want a new muffler, remember, ONLY a "Nelson" Muffler sounds "Correct"..
