I have a fairly nice 1955 wd 45, and I want to change the gear oil. I'm not too mechanical but I love the ole allis. I want to make sure I id all the drain and fill plugs so that nothing is missed.
As I understand it, the same gear oil is used for the tranny and rear end. I have found two square head drain plugs. One at the tranny and the other right at the back axle in the middle. Are there any more drain plugs beside these two?
For the fill plugs, I found two on the left side of the tractor just below the battery box, and near the hydraulic fill plug. Also isnt there a 3rd gear oil fill plug in back of the rear end, its in view, just below the seat, and looks like a maybe one inch threaded cap on it. My mechanic told me about this 3rd fill plug, but I want to make sure. Thanks Duane
