I am swapping a better radiator into my ’47 C. I have noticed for quite awhile that the hood doesn’t line up that well with the temperature gauge, it seems like the grille is crooked, and since the grille locates off of the radiator I wonder if the radiator is sitting on there straight. I know the old radiator is structurally sound, it just has a seep and piddles on the front tire when it gets warmed up, so is there some kind of cushion under the radiator that may have fallen out from under one side? If so what is it how or how thick is it so I can have it ready before I tear it down?
I don’t remember anything being under the radiator when we put it together, but that was 12 years ago and it was in a bazillion parts when we got it so even then it may not have even been right then.
